Jeff Langley Joins Malibu Boats Pro Team!

Take a look at what Malibu just released to celebrate Jeff Langley joining the Malibu Boats Pro Team — It’s just a one clip tease, but it’s classic Langley going huge off of a double up! Definitely worth the watch. Maybe this will motivate more riders to improve their double up game this season. Regardless, we are excited for both Jeff and Malibu. There should be some great things to come from both of them this season.

JEFF LANGLEY JOINS MALIBU BOATS PRO TEAM

LOUDON, Tenn. – Malibu Boats added wakeboarder Jeff Langley to its pro team of world-class athletes, announced today by CEO Jack Springer. Langley is a highly respected, stylish freerider who was the first to land a mute double roll behind the boat, leading to a surge in popularity for that move on kickers at cable parks worldwide. He also ranked ninth on the King Of Wake series in 2013, proving he is much more than just a freerider.

Foggy Morning in Clermont

Our senior photographer Jason Lee went out for an early morning shoot in Clermont, FL with Danny Harf, Dylan Miller and Bob Sichel last week and Sean Kilgus was there to capture this footage for us. It has been an all time year in Florida in terms of weather for riding in the winter with not a lot of wind and tons of days in the 70’s. The fog this week has been super thick in the mornings, and this past Friday Kilgus and Jason were able to capture some pretty epic stuff. Check it out!

Danny Harf Defy Double Ups!

One of the most impressive double-up sections of all time helped Danny Harf win Video Part of the Year at the 2012 TransWorld Wake Awards and Video of the Year with Sean Kilgus. Defy lived up to the hype and the final double up hammer ender section was a major reason for that. It is crazy to hear Kilgus talk about what D Harf was able to do under the pressure of two helicopters circling and really really expensive cameras rolling. Enjoy! If you are wondering why DEFY footage keeps popping up all over the place it is because it is one of the best movies ever made and we get to see different insights into different history making moments that occurred throughout the filming process. If you weren’t wondering and were quietly enjoying all these bonus edits around the web thinking about next summer, then I’m with you. Filmmaker Sean Kilgus has teamed up with network_A youtube channel to roll out all kinds of goodies. Looking forward to what else comes out and for now we get to watch crazy Aussie Dean Smith risk life and limb charging one of the heaviest features ever seen. Switch and regular frontside 7’s, backside 7, and typical Dean Smith huge airs make this performance one to be burned in the memories of those who witnessed it.

DEFY Bonus – Mexico

This one is a more of a vacation video for me as it brought back great memories of a trip I was lucky enough to be a part of. Sean Kilgus and Danny Harf arranged for Shawn Watson, Shane Bonifay and myself to post up on the Mexican side of the U.S./Mexico border for a film trip for DEFY. We were treated like kings and got some great footage for the movie. Here is the bonus section included in the DVD showing some outtakes and B-Roll footage from the trip.

Sean Kilgus made this piece for the bonus section of DEFY, but it seems appropriate that he released it now after the passing of a legend in our sport, Herb O’Brien. This piece goes through the family vibe and culture that is Ronix and Radar Lake. He created this virtual playground for their teams to ride, build and create and this piece of property was a testament to the amount of passion that Herb and Paul O’Brien bring to our sport. Thanks for everything Herb!

Reed Hansen’s Battle Falls Accepted to X-Dance 13!

A huge congrats goes to Reed Hansen, Sean Kilgus, Dieter Humpsch, Matt Manzari and everyone else that was involved in the making of Battle Falls – The Whole Story, winner of the Best Web Video at this year’s TransWorld Wake Awards. The amount of effort put in by Reed and his team is immeasurable and as previously stated, knowing that heavy-hitters like film-maker Sean Kilgus are also in the web-edit game with companies like Fox getting behind these kinds of projects, the whole environment changes. So pumped to see these guys setting the bar as high as they did. Kilgus is pretty familiar with the X-Dance film festival as he and Danny Harf took home the Best Soundtrack award for DEFY last year at X-Dance 12. Have fun out in Utah boys!
